ABOUT ME
I have spent my career developing the ability to express new thoughts and adapting existing ideas for new audiences: collecting and crafting stories into a theme, weaving an engaging narrative, articulating unique voices.
The only thing more satisfying than writing is editing! I get a huge kick out of working with text to develop and hone a message: listening for key notes, muting the noise, allowing the author’s voice to sing.
I graduated from the University of Warwick in 1998 with a BA Hons in English and American Literature, and have since worked across a number of different industries—recruitment, charitable sector and education—writing and editing.
Based in Coventry UK, I am a writing and editing professional with over twenty years of experience working freelance with business, consultancies, agencies, social enterprise, schools, universities and charities.
I specialise in law and international development, particularly disaster risk reduction & management, social protection, climate change, health, economic institution-building, governance, conflict management, international law and state-building.
Alongside working directly within development, I am an Honorary Associate Professor at the School of Law at the University of Warwick, working with the academic community—including doctoral candidates and early career fellows—to develop excellent articles, book chapters and books presenting world class research.
